Terms and Conditions

1. You can enter the Local Heroes competition from 4th May 2020 until 11.59 pm on 31st May 2020.
2. Entries received after this time will not be entered into the Local Heroes competition. Both the person nominating “Nominator” and the nominated local hero “Hero” must be 16 years or older and resident in Ayrshire to enter.
3. The Nominator need access to the internet in order to enter the Local Heroes competition.
4. You can’t enter the Local Heroes competition if you or a member of your family is an employee of Ayr Central, or any other company connected with the competition.
5. To enter, the Nominator needs to visit Facebook.com/AyrCentral and share their Hero’s name and a one-line reason why they deserve to win in reply to the post pinned to the top of our Facebook page facebook.com/AyrCentraland they will be automatically entered into the competition.
6. The Nominator must have the Hero’s permission to enter them into the competition.
7. You must prove that you have met the entry criteria if we ask you to.
8. Failure to meet the entry criteria will result in an entry being invalid and/or forfeiture of any prize.
9. Only one entry per Nominator and Hero is allowed.
10. Syndicated entries or those made through agents, third parties, organised groups or using methods such as a computer macro, script or via other automated or mechanical means, processes or devices is prohibited and all such entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.
11. There will be 4 winners in total.
12. Only the Heroes, not Nominators, are eligible to win a prize.
13. Each winning Hero will receive the following prize: £100 in-store vouchers to spend in stores at Ayr Central The prize does not include the cost of transfers to and from Ayr Central and personal expenses.
14. All other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and/or that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winners.
15. The entries will be judged by a panel of employees at Ayr Central.
16. Entries will be judged based on the entry which best evokes the theme of the competition.
17. Once the winner has been chosen, we will notify the relevant Nominators by direct message on Facebook (using the details given when they entered) within 1 day of the competition closing date and ask them to provide contact details for their nominated Hero within 1 day.
18. We will then notify the winning Heroes who will have 4 days to claim their prize from their personal notification. If we don’t get any response from a Nominator or Hero within the timescales above we can choose to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant chosen from the remaining valid entries and thereafter until a winner on these terms is found.
19. You must enter the competition for your own personal purposes only.
20. The prize is non-transferable.
21. There is no cash alternative for any prize.
22. The prize is non-negotiable.
23. The winner does not have to take up the prize if they don’t want to.
24. To the extent permitted by law, Ayr Central will have no liability for any claims, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with participation in this competition or the allocation or use of a prize.
25. Incomplete or illegible entries or entries not in accordance with these terms and conditions will be rejected.
26. We are not responsible for any wrongly completed, lost, damaged or delayed entries, or for any technical failures which stop you entering the competition.
27. The winners may be required to participate in publicity activities connected with the competition including being photographed and/or filmed (without compensation).
28. By entering the competition you agree and provide consent to take part in such publicity.
29. If we can’t award the prize due to reasons beyond our control, we may provide a substitute prize of similar or greater value.
30. We may suspend, cancel or amend the competition at any time where it becomes reasonably necessary to do so.
31. We may disqualify, without notice, any entrant and/or winner we reasonably believe has failed to meet the qualifying criteria, has acted fraudulently, tampered or attempted to tamper with the operation of the competition or is in breach of these terms and conditions.
32. You can find out the name of the winners by sending a S.A.E. to Ayr Central Shopping Centre, Sky Square, Ayr, KA7 1TP within 1 month following the closing date.
33. By entering the competition all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
34. The competition and these terms and conditions are governed by Scottish law, and any dispute between you and Ayr Central arising out of or in connection with the competition or these terms and conditions shall be dealt with exclusively by the Scottish courts.
35. Ayr Central’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
